Dr. Rutger Helmers
Rutger Helmers (1980) is Assistant Professor in Musicology at the University of Amsterdam and Lecturer in Literary and Cultural Studies at Radboud University Nijmegen. His research interests include in nineteenth-century opera, nationalism and Russian music, and he is currently researching travel and cosmopolitanism in nineteenth-century musical life. He is one of the editors of the interdisciplinary journal De negentiende eeuw (The Nineteenth Century). He is member of the board since 2016.
